We are a varied group of professionals dedicated to changing the world, one community and one child at a time. Our downtown club is the largest and most active in Division 13. The Kiwanis Club of Kalamazoo performs many community service projects that benefit children across Kalamazoo County. If you are interested in becoming involved with our energetic and fun group, we encourage you join us for a noon meeting at the Radisson Plaza Hotel every Wednesday. Lunch is on us!

Tag Day 2010 Report

Pretty Lake Tag Day A Fantastic Success Again!

On May 5th, Pretty Lake Vacation Camp held its 74th annual Tag Day event. Members from the Downtown Kiwanis Club of Kalamazoo joined PLVC’s staff, board members, and other volunteers from 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. throughout the downtown Kalamazoo area as well as at local Walgreen’s and Harding’s stores to collect donations from the community.

People identified the volunteers by their bright blue aprons and colorful buckets. Everyone who made a donation – no matter the amount – received a "tag" to proudly show that they gave their support to this worthy cause of providing financial assistance to bring campers to camp this summer.

PLVC set its goal high and hoped to raise $15,000. We are thrilled to announce that – at last count – they raised $18,000!! This speaks volumes to the commitment of PLVC’s sponsors and the many volunteers who helped collect donations. It also speaks to the generosity of individuals and organizations in our community and their commitment to the youth of our community.
